It you are going to use the jacket in very wet conditions you will need a jacket with taped seams and high hydrostatic head.
Hydrostatic head is the measurement at which water is able to permeate the shell. It’s measured by using a water column. Water is poured into the column and once water permeates through the shell the measurement is given as the hydrostatic head of the jacket. The higher the number the more waterproof the jacket.
