Wetsuit Boots

Wetsuit boots are perfect for when the water is really cold and just wearing a wetsuit is not enough. A wetsuit leaves your feet, hands and head exposed. The first thing to protect is your feet, as this is where you will feel the cold.

Wetsuit boots are made from flexible neoprene which are easier to put on. They hug your foot so less water comes inside, making it more comfortable. The thickness of neoprene in neoprene boots can be between 1mm and 7mm.

Waterproof seams allow less water to flow into the boot, which keeps your feet warmer. Glued, blindstitched and liquid taped seams are the best.

Boots should be fairly tight but not too tight. If they are too big, they will fill up with water. The longer the wetsuit boot the better. If the boots are too short they can slip from under your wetsuit and leave your leg exposed.

Aqua Shoes

Aqua shoes are great for water sports including sailing to protect your feet from painful surfaces, keeping your feet warm in cold water and provide support. The sole is made of a durable rubber, which gives good grip.

Good quality aqua shoes usually have a stretchy upper portion that will support the foot. Aqua shoes should be made from lightweight materials, which should dry quickly.

Chelston Direct has a wide range of wetsuit boots available from great brands such as Gul, Osprey and Typhoon.
